Why all the planets on our milkyway galaxy have Greek names?can u name your favorite planet name?

theater... gets it all wrong.

Here we go:

Mercury = Hermes

Venus = Aphrodite

Earth = no Greek name; it would be Gaia

Mars = Ares

Jupiter = Zeus

Saturn = Chronos

Uranus = Uranos

Neptune = Poseidon

Pluto = Pluton/ Hades

Thus the names on the left are Latin/ Roman, the ones on the left are Greek

I like the name 'Pluto' because it is at the farthest reaches of the solar system.

The planets in our solar system are contained in the milky way galaxy and the planets in our solar system are Roman.
Reply:Earth
Reply:The greek names refer to Gods.

Mercery = Hermies

Earth = Earth

Mars = Aries

Jupiter = Zues

Satern = ?

Uraniun, Neptune, Pluto = uniscovered.
Reply:I love Venus and Pluto.
Reply:Actually, the planets and moons are names after characters in Roman mythology. But they're basically just knock-offs of their Greek counterparts.

My top3: Pluto, Mars and Mercury.
