I am considering the name Jacinda for a baby girl. It is important that the name be derived from the Greek Orthodox church/culture so that she may be baptised. I can't think of what Saint this name correlates with but all research online points to Jacinda being a popular Greek name.
What is the Greek word for the name Jacinda and is it an Orthodox name?
Jacinda means Hyacinth.
That is the Greek word.
The Spanish word is Jacinta.
Jacinta was the name of one of the seers in Fatima Portugal in 1913 when the BVM appeared there just before the first world war. I do not know if she was made a saint. She is probably beatified though.
Reply:You can look here, I don't know for sure, but good luck!

On here it states that
"Jacinda (Greek) means Hyacinth Flower, and
Jacinta (Greek) means Lovely "

I doubt it correlates with a Saint.
