Many people say light but that is kind of wrong I believe because Jesus is the Light! I have heard that he is not called Lucifer in the Greek Manuscript.
Anybody know what the name Lucifer or from the Greek Original text what it means?
KJV -Gods is good with the Hebrew but there is the Greek Translation
"螘蠅蟽蠁慰蟻慰蟼" Complex word..."螘蠅 + 桅蔚蟻蠅" 螘蠅=Dawn and 桅蔚蟻蠅 =carry or bring
So we have the one who carries dawn or brings dawn, same as Christoforos meaning the one who carries the Christ.
Reply:Lucifer comes from the Pagan name Lucifera which means light bringer. It was added on to the names of goddesses (ex. Diana Lucifer or Isis Lucifer). It was a name the Pagans used to show the light that their deities brought to them.
The early Christian church, it its ever long battle to destroy paganism, took the name and added it to their cosmic scapegoat known as Satan. But they didn't stop there. They took the Pagan's image for their male god, with his horns and hooves, and made that the image of the same devil. This way, early converters would see these once beautiful pagan images and associate them with evil, thus helping the church to demonize the Pagan faith.
Reply:The Latin Vulgate version of the Bible used this word twice to refer to the Morning Star: once in 2 Peter 1:19 to translate the Greek word "桅蠅蟽蠁蠈蟻慰蟼" (Phosphoros), which has exactly the same literal meaning of "Light-Bringer" that "Lucifer" has in Latin;
Reply:It does mean light, or light-bringer, something along those lines.
My Brazilian gangster buddy's name is Luz, it also means light. It's derived from Lucifer.
Reply:Lucifer is Latin for "light-bearer." I think Lucifer is only mentioned in the Old Testament, and is a mistranslation of a name for Venus, the morning star. So there would be no original Greek text.
Reply:I think it's actually bringer of light, or bearer of light. Which would make sense, in a way: you cannot perceive the light except against a dark background. If there were no darkness, the concept of light would not even exist.
Reply:Lucifer means chief spirit of evil, adversary of God; tempter of mankind;Master of Hell
Reply:Let's get the record straight. First, there is no lucifer, second was his right hand, the enforcer, the one that did all the dirty work so god could take his throne.
Reply:Lucifer I believe means the angel of light. But I'm not sure.
Reply:Lucifer means light bearer. It just means he brings what is in the dark to the light.
Reply:Lucifer comes from the Hebrew heylel meaning "light bearer"
Reply:Light Bringer
Reply:Lucifer does not mean light or light bearer and it most certainly does not mean morning star as the satanic NIV wishes people to believe, or any other such nonsense taught by uneducated theologians.
The word Lucifer is from the Hebrew word HAYLEL, meaning "praise to", as in the beginning of HALLELUIAH (praise be to Yahweh).
However, without a subject attached, the word has the connotation of SELF PRAISER, self glorifier, illuminated from within (as in arrogantly) - hence the words LUCENT (now used by a particular phone company run by known Luciferians).
Why did you give me thumbs down before I even posted anything? You people are seriously possessed.
